Some people might wonder what we do with our pasture raised pigs in the winter. Well, it is simple, they stay out on pasture. We brought the pigs closer to the house as the winter started. This included moving their shelter and creating various camps that we can open as winter progresses.
Every day we ensure that they have water, food and that the electric fence is working. We also give them a bale of straw once a week. They use the straw to make a nest in their shelter, they know just how they want it so we just give them the bale and they move it around to match their needs.
